Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Magneo mobile application ("Magneo", "the App", "we", "us") handles information when you use it. Magneo is published by Zoran Gojković ("the Developer"). By installing and using Magneo, you agree to the practices described below.

Short version: Magneo does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. All sensor readings are processed locally on your device and never leave it. We have no servers, no analytics, and no advertising.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

Magneo is an offline-first application. The Developer does not collect, store, or transmit any of the following:

Your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier
Your device identifier, advertising ID, or hardware fingerprint
Your precise or approximate location
Your browsing or usage history
Magnetometer readings or any other sensor data
Crash reports, analytics events, or telemetry of any kind

2. How Magneo Uses Your Device

2.1 Magnetometer Sensor

Magneo reads the magnetic field strength reported by your device's built-in magnetometer sensor (the same sensor used by the Android compass). This data is processed entirely on-device, displayed to you in real time, and discarded as soon as you close the App. It is never written to external storage, never sent over the network, and never shared with the Developer or any third party.

2.2 Permissions Magneo Requests

Magneo requests the following Android permissions:

Vibrate — Used by Wire Finder mode to provide haptic feedback when a metal object is detected. Granted automatically at install time on all Android versions.
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS) — Used to display in-app status notifications. Required only on Android 13 and higher. You may deny this permission and Magneo will continue to function without notifications.
Approximate location (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION) — Used only by the Ghost Hunter mode's optional "evidence log" feature, which timestamps and geo-tags magnetic field anomalies if you choose to enable it. Location data is stored locally on your device only and is never transmitted. You may deny this permission and the rest of Magneo will continue to function normally; only the geo-tagging feature will be unavailable.
Internet — Used solely to communicate with the Google Play Billing service for in-app purchases. No other network requests are made by Magneo.

3. Third-Party Services

Magneo uses two Google Play services that operate independently of the Developer:

3.1 Google Play Billing

If you purchase the premium unlock through the App, the transaction is handled entirely by Google Play Billing. The Developer does not see, store, or process your payment details. Google's handling of your payment information is governed by the Google Privacy Policy.

3.2 Google Play In-App Review

Magneo may occasionally invite you to leave a rating for the App through the Google Play In-App Review API. The review dialog and any rating you submit are handled directly by the Google Play Store. The Developer does not see your review until it is published publicly on the Play Store listing.

4. Children's Privacy

Magneo is not directed at children under the age of 13 and the Developer does not knowingly collect any information from children. The App contains no advertising, no in-app messaging, no social features, and no user-generated content. The Education mode is designed for general audiences and does not require any account or personal information to use.

5. International Users

Magneo is published from the Republic of Serbia. The App processes all data locally on your device, regardless of your country of residence. Because no personal data is collected or transmitted, no international data transfers occur.

6. Your Rights

Because Magneo does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information, the Developer has nothing to provide, correct, or delete on request. If you wish to remove all data associated with the App, simply uninstall it from your device. Any local preferences or settings stored by the App are deleted automatically by the Android operating system upon uninstall.

7. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes to the App or legal requirements. The "Effective date" at the top of this page indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated within the App on next launch. Continued use of Magneo after the effective date of any update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
